About this range
What we carry in this range
Browse the tabletop range from Byars. Check specifications, add products to a quote request, or reorder on your trade account. Family owned in South Geelong since 1985, delivered on our own fleet across Geelong and regional Victoria.
Front of house is the part of your venue the customer actually touches. It also takes the hardest wear. Tabletop that looks the part on day one but chips, crazes or bends by month three costs more than tabletop that was specified properly.
What we carry
Crockery for plating and service. Glassware across beer, wine, spirits, cocktail and polycarbonate. Cutlery in stainless and melamine, plus servers, steak knives and cheese knives. Servingware, buffetware and table service. Barware and bar tools. Teapots, cups, saucers and barista tools.
Specify for service, not for a photograph
Commercial crockery is rated for stacking, thermal shock and dishwasher cycles in a way domestic ware simply isn't. Glassware for a busy bar wants toughened rims. Polycarbonate is worth considering anywhere near a pool, a beer garden or a function on grass. Cutlery weight and finish is a design decision, but so is how it holds up to a commercial dishwasher.
Replacement matters more than the first order
The question we get asked most isn't "what looks good" — it's "will you still stock this in two years when I've broken a dozen of them". We keep depth on the lines we carry, and we'll tell you honestly if something is a short-run item before you build a venue around it.
Come and see it
Tabletop is worth handling before you commit. Our showroom at 84 Barwon Terrace, South Geelong is open Monday to Friday and you're welcome to walk in — or ask your rep to bring samples to you.
Questions for tabletop
Open full FAQIs commercial crockery different from domestic crockery?
Yes. Commercial crockery is made to withstand stacking, thermal shock and repeated commercial dishwasher cycles. Domestic ware chips and crazes quickly under that load. It's usually the cheaper thing to buy once and the more expensive thing to keep replacing.
Can I see tabletop before I order?
Yes — and we recommend it. Our South Geelong showroom is open Monday to Friday, no appointment needed. If it's easier, your Byars rep can bring samples to your venue.
Will Byars still stock this range in a year when I need to replace breakages?
That's the right question to ask. We hold depth on our core lines, and we'll tell you before you order if something is a short-run item that may not be repeatable. Replacement supply is worth more than a good-looking first order.
